15 Skills You’ll Focus on at Summer Squash Camp in 2018

If you’re looking for the best way to improve your squash game this summer, then the only choice is to join us for an International Squash Academy camp. We focus on both the mental and physical aspect of the game and bring in the game’s top coaches every single year to help you take your skills to the next level.

Our camps are designed for plenty of different kinds of players, too. Boys and girls from ages 10-18 are welcome to join us, and your current skill level shouldn’t hold you back. Whether you’re just starting in the sport or a top high school competitor, all skill levels are welcome at ISA. Our personalized instruction in a fun and positive environment will help you feel comfortable to try new things on the court that can make a huge difference in your overall performance.

One of the questions we get all the time from interested families about ISA squash camps is what can campers expect to learn while they’re with us? The low camper-to-coach ratio allows our staff to provide personal feedback to all athletes in attendance as they’re instructed in squash technique, tactical strategy, and conditioning.

Here are the 15 specific skills you’ll work on while at squash camp this summer:

  • Grip
  • Drops
  • Lobs
  • Boasts
  • Drives
  • Swing Mechanics
  • Court Movements
  • Control of Centre
  • Moving Your Opponent
  • Forehand
  • Backhand
  • Overhead
  • Refereeing
  • Rules & Marking
  • Serves

Due to our personalized approach and the combination of skill lessons, quick drills and individual sessions, we guarantee that players of all ability levels will benefit from these carefully crafted clinics.

It’s also worth noting that advanced players who want to spend some extra time on squash tournament training will have that opportunity here. Some of the things focused on in these sessions include match play tactics, strategy and mental preparation in a competitive setting.

If you’re an advanced player that wants an entire camp focused on tournament training, we have that available at select locations, too. This opportunity allows junior squash players to train with other motivated tournament players and compete against them in a fun, constructive and well-organized setting.

The learning and improving doesn’t have to stop once it’s time to go home, either! A personal workbook will be giving to each camper before they leave that provides details on what they were working on at camp, which will encourage them to continue developing these particular skills.

With all of these benefits available, we hope you make a stop at one of our ISA squash camps this summer. We promise we’ll make you feel right at home before leaving camp confident in how your on-court skills have grown.
